ARTIST DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP ON LE NOZZE DI FIGARO
November 14, 2013 | November 16, 2013
Our Artist Development Workshop on Le Nozze di Figaro in November of 2013 was an opportunity for a group of nine singer-actors to delve deeply into the music, text, plot, and characters of Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro). The singer-actors worked together for three weeks, exploring the musical and psychological/emotional minutiae of their individual roles as well as in-depth ensemble training techniques. The workshop culminated in two presentations in which the performers and creative team shared their process and selected scenes from their work together. These presentations provided a unique opportunity for audience members to gain insight into the very human story of Le Nozze di Figaro as well as the process and storytelling power of opera more generally.
